A while ago I wrote a post asking people to 'help me help us' by gifting money to buy native trees for planting. In this post I pledged £100 of my own money if we received £100 in donations, which we very gratefully did.
With the combined cash we bought three hazel and three hornbeam trees, which were planted in Farnham Park under the guidance of ranger, Nick MacFarlane. All of the trees were protected with biodegradable guards, so they don't get eaten by deer while maturing, and will be watered when needed too (thanks again, Nick!).
It was great fun - and the best bit was seeing my mini tree enthusiasts digging, planting and finding creatures in earth. Now I can't wait for you to join us at the park on September 25th and 26th for our big family planting event! Lots more kids will get the chance to plant trees, spot creatures, enjoy a nature trail and some planet-friendly arts and crafts.
See you there - and keep checking in - there'll be more planting in other parts of the UK soon.
